Job Description:
The Food Service Lead is an integral part of our growing Dining Services division that is responsible for the oversight or delegation of responsibilities within the food service operation such as customer service, food preparation, and food safety and sanitation procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Assigns daily work assignments to a food service team and oversees the completion of tasks
- Trains and guides staff on job duties, proper food safety and sanitation procedures, customer service, etc.
- Direct daily activities of food service workers in dining services
- Prepares and builds food items according to standardized recipes and directions
- Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- Oversees set up of workstations including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, steam tables, etc.
- Train and mentor other food service workers
- Oversee hourly employees; encourage employee growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork and follow through with all counseling and disciplinary actions.
- Verify temperature logs and productions records are completed timely and accurately
- Oversees the break down, cleaning, and sanitizing of workstations
- Maintain a safe, hazard free and sanitary work environment
- Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guest, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of leadership within a Starbucks is required
- Previous food service experience required
- Must be able to obtain food safety certification
- Proficiency in multi-tasking
- Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Adhere to the uniform policy as outlined in the Location Guide
- Ability to understand and follow directions given by management
- Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Adhere to all safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage policies and procedures
- Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs
