Key Responsibilities:

A Red Team Principal Analyst here at United helps improve detection capabilities, strengthened defenses, and best response strategies to continuously improve United's cybersecurity posture. A principal analyst is responsible for designing and executing red team engagements, attack surface reduction engagements, and penetration testing while building and maintaining the underlying red team infrastructure. A lead analyst is expected to generate and present engagement results with a root cause focus, including detection and mitigation recommendations, advising application and system owners on remediation steps. Red Team Lead Analysts also have the unique role of directly assisting with United's vulnerability disclosure program. The ability to work unsupervised in a large scale corporate environment is required. Develop and execute Red Team engagements using proven methodologies, tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP) in an effort to gain access to critical business data to demonstrate the risks associated with real-world Advanced Persistent Threats (APT).

  • Research and develop new TTPs for use in engagements to drive sensing capabilities. Conduct and conduct vulnerability investigations to help United identify risks and provide both strategic and tactical recommendations.
  • Conduct and execute physical security assessments to assess physical and cyber security risks/threats. Serve as a subject matter expert for the Red Team, their engagements and vulnerability risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with other cybersecurity and digital risk teams to deliver results holistically. Develop and implement security standards, procedures and guidelines for multiple platforms and different environments (e.g. client server, distributed, mainframe, etc.).
  • Utilize in-depth technical knowledge and business requirements to propose remedial steps for vulnerabilities and security gaps discovered while conducting assessments. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in the selection of evaluation methods, techniques, and criteria to achieve results.
