About Financial Planning and Analysis at Wayfair: With Wayfair's focus on profitable operations, the need arises for robust financial partnership, planning, and support across the business. The Financial Planning and Analysis team works collaboratively with various teams across the company to drive fiscal accountability, provide visibility into actual performance, and shape our forecasts based on the most current business information and trends. Our work provides the company with financial information that directly impacts the direction of Wayfair's business. We enjoy tackling challenging problems and translating quantitative analysis into strategic business implications. Includes responsibilities:

  • Develop insights into key drivers of our profit and loss (P&L) and act as subject matter expert to all internal stakeholders
  • Assist in the monthly budgeting process and identify additional reporting needs across the organization to enable financial and operational strategy execution.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders of Wayfair companies over time, translating business problems into actionable insights that can be answered through data analytics.
  • Strengthen existing relationships with financial and cross-functional partners across the organization
  • Initiate and complete ad hoc analysis requests and special projects to support Wayfair's leadership.
  • Implement strategic improvement projects of our processes
  • Translate high-level business problems into more specific questions that can be answered through data analytics; Leverage analytical results to identify actionable business recommendations

The right candidate has:

  • The candidate must have a university degree (finance, economics and/or business analysis).
  • 1+ year of experience in a finance related position
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills that put you at ease with financial data and accounting concepts.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and ability to effectively convey insights from analytics to senior leaders.
  • Experience working with large datasets and ingenuity to get data when clean and/or complete information is not available
  • Ability to support complex projects to completion using effective project management, communication and influence
  • Excellent organizational skills, great attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Results driven and able to perform well in a fast moving environment with tight deadlines
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required
