Full Job Description:
The Electrician is part of the team of Electricians under the direction of the Equipment Manager who uses the system to dispatch the work process. He is responsible for the maintenance of all electrical equipment and related systems at the Woodlands campus. The main area of focus is the support of technology production, delivery and data centers and technology companies. Must be able to work independently when needed, but must have a track record of working well in a team environment. Ability to interact effectively with contractors, subcontractors and consultants.
Work
- Install, repair and maintain all electrical equipment and systems in The Woodlands infrastructure, including emergency generators, two-way bus stations and UPS systems, and offices. Works indoors with main and branch circuit distribution, standby power, UPS systems, motor control, lighting, detection/monitoring equipment and fire alarm systems.
- Install power, data, voice and fiber optic cabling for office maintenance and MAC (move, add, switch) services. Manage and operate sophisticated electrical distribution systems including emergency diesel generators, transformers, generators, main distribution panels, active UPS systems, static digital switchgear and related branch distribution panels.
- Perform infrared thermography tests and generate performance documentation reports. Manage electrical parts inventory.
- First responder for general electrical and lighting issues, including utilities and distribution systems. Assists in performing critical operations, inspections, and maintenance procedures (such as field verification of system operations to ensure proper operation of home automation systems).
- Support and implementation of energy saving systems by using and / or changing the current functions of the home automation system. Respond to customer service requests in a timely manner.
- Answer emergency calls. Supports drawings and schematics of additional or replacement procedures after installation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned. Basic requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in operation and maintenance of all aspects of power distribution, including voltage distribution systems, 13.8 kV synchronization switchgear, dual-ended substations and UPS, is required.
- A thorough understanding of emergency generators and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) in terms of critical reliability is required. Minimum 2 years of experience working in fire alarm system installation or other high voltage system installation including structured cabling.
- Qualified candidates have a working knowledge of the facility's physical safety program and must be able to demonstrate an understanding of fire safety procedures and requirements. Thorough understanding of NFPA standards 70, 70E and 70B.
- The successful candidate must have a TX Journeyman Electrician license or current electrical license.
