Job Description:

The primary purpose of the negotiator position is to work with non-peer providers to negotiate the price of medical claims and facilities to achieve the highest possible success rates, resulting in savings for both the member and Aetna.

As a trading analyst, you

  • Communicate with suppliers by phone, fax and/or
  • e-mail as indicated in the established negotiation
  • Organize and prioritize incoming workload to ensure
  • response time, productivity and quality metrics are
  • encountered
  • Work to obtain information such as plan benefits,
  • insured liability uses basic accounting skills to
  • assist in the negotiation process
  • Handle calls and written requests from suppliers.
  • related to pre and post negotiations
  • Review vendor history in Global Claim Services
  • CMS application to help determine the
  • trading thresholds
  • Maintain and use all resources and systems for
  • effectively manage day-to-day responsibilities
  • Independently investigate and resolve complaints/billing issues

Qualifications Required

  • General negotiation knowledge (through the medical billing process, claims processing, or other avenues)
  • Ability to give clear and concise examples of how to negotiate in a professional environment. Competent written and verbal communication
  • Possess a strong and active listening, patience,
  • adaptability and persuasiveness
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet Explorer
  • Attention to detail; mandatory data entry
  • Able to perform basic accounting concepts.
  • Able to build a relationship and make decisions.

  • Knowledge of medical billing
  • Experience in handling complaints

  • Possession of an active New York Appraiser License is
